Welcome to The Family Doctors!
We appreciate the fact that you have selected us to provide your medical care. Our goal is to provide the highest quality medical care available. We have prepared this information sheet to better acquaint you with
our practice.
The Family Doctors provides a broad spectrum of healthcare for your entire family: infant check-ups and shots, child and adolescent services, vaccinations, women's health (gynecology services, dermatology
services, and geriatric care. We also perform a variety of office procedures including: blood draws, skin exams, sutures/ laceration repairs, blood pressure/ cholesterol/ diabetes screenings, etc...
Appointments/ Office Hours
M 9-3:30, Tu 9-1, W 9-1, Th 9-3:30, F 9-1 (closed for lunch 1-2pm)
Our office maintains a daily open access schedule to better accommodate our patients. Rather than double book patients for the same time slot, we reserve some appointments for patients with urgent concerns that
need to be seen the same day. When calling for an appointment, please help us schedule an adequate amount of time by describing the reason for your visit as clearly as possible (ex. labs, shots, prescriptions,
etc..). If your need is urgent, we will always strive to schedule your appointment the same day of your request, or within 24 hours. If you must cancel your appointment for any reason, please call at least 24 hours in advance so that we may accommodate other patients.
After Hours Care
Our telephone number is the same, day or night. If you have an urgent need to speak with Dr. Tomecki after regular business hours, please call our main office telephone number (708) 387-7000. Please follow the
prompts to leave a message for Dr. Tomecki, explaining the nature and urgency of your problem as clearly and concisely as possible, and he will return your call as soon as possible. In an emergency, make sure to
call 911 first. Adhering to appropriate medical guidelines, no routine care, antibiotics, pain medications, or prescription refills will be provided after office hours.
Prescriptions
Please allow 48 hours for prescriptions to be refilled. Do not assume that the pharmacy will automatically grant your refill request. They may notify you that you need a follow-up visit with Dr. Tomecki and a new
prescription. Dr. Tomecki plans your refills to coincide with your next visit. Therefore, when your prescriptions are running low, you need to schedule an appointment
Labs
We do offer the service of blood draws at our office. You will receive a copy of your lab results in the patient portal, along with a letter from Dr. Tomecki explaining the results of the lab work. He will inform you of any
changes that need to be made as a result of the lab work up, If you have questions regarding your lab work, you may schedule an appointment to speak with Dr. Tomecki, or he can answer your questions at your next
regularly scheduled appointment.
